Welcome to the new programme jam packed with loads of events for you all to get involved with.
Just taking a look aver the past few months with in the young farmers calendar; we have had a busy time with float building at Dob Ford, which definitely paid off in the end and we were awarded second place. Well done to everyone who helped and went on the float on the show day! Special thanks must go to R.F Fielding and NFU for the sponsorship and also to Rick’s grand parents Ruth and John for allowing us to us the facilities at Dob Ford. Also at the Cheshire show we entered a team into the tug of war who also did very well and were placed third. As part of a celebration for our success at Cheshire show we decided to go out for a meal at Pizza Express and into Macclesfield for a few drinks after.
We have held many social events which have been well attended, including a joint Buxton and Leek young farmers BBQ and rounder’s social up at Heaton House Farm, this was a great evening and the weather really helped. This was then followed by an over 18’s night out in Macclesfield where we were joint by many members from other Cheshire clubs. We the had a tennis social held at Richard Garton’s house where we showed of our Wimbledon tips in order to prepare a team for the tennis competition this Sunday, good luck to those taking part!
In terms of competitions we have also had some great success, the under 21 girls won the football competition, and the under 16 boys also did very well it was nice to see some new potential members for the club, we hope to see you at some future events. The final event which we have just taken part in was the Cricket and Rounder’s competition, despite this being a very long journey for us we still managed to secure 4th place in the cricket competition.
In the next couple of weeks there are many competitions taking place and we hope that Macc can achieve some great things. These include Tennis, Junior quiz and Entertainments. If you want to give any of the competitions a try do not hesitate in letting the top table know, even if you want to just come along and show your support.
